Oh bollocks, it has all gone horribly wrong tonight. For both sides of the Old Firm:

St. Mirren 4, Celtic 0

Dundee United 1, Rangers 0

Celtic’s “performance” tonight leaves them 10 points behind Rangers in the league but Rangers have 2 games in hand. The SPL trophy will be Ibrox bound then. Or will it?

It sounds as if Rangers’ Scottish Cup replay performance against Dundee United wasn’t all that great either. Is that just a hangover from their CIS Cup weekend or a sign that cracks are beginning to show? Hate to admit it but its got to be the former. Their chance of a domestic treble is now gone but there’s surely no way they can lose the league at this point. Two out of three would be a bloody good season’s haul for them.

Back to Celtic. Not good. Not good at all. And there was me worrying about Ross County being a Scottish Cup banana skin! A humbling in the league by St. Mirren was not something I would have expected. Tony Mowbray has his work cut out if anything is to be salvaged from his first season (maybe his only season) in charge. Celtic must bring the Scottish Cup back to Parkhead if they are to rescue a mediocre season.

  1. So Mowbray is gone.

But how much of it is down to him and how much blame do the guys on the pitch get?

Not being a footie follower it’s always puzzled me that the manager is first out the door after a few bad performances and the players get less stick.

Do you think if there was an all-season transfer window then there’d be much more punting of players? ;D
