I’m not sure that I share Gary Caldwell’s faith that Dundee United will stop Rangers next weekend as the SPL comes to a close. A win for Rangers at Tannadice will secure the trophy for the Ibrox side and I expect Walter Smith to have his team well-primed to go for just that.
However Dundee United will be looking for a result (win or draw) to ensure they qualify for the Europa Cup (the rebranded UEFA Cup) next season – so they do have something to play for. And, if they really go for it, they might well hold Rangers to a draw. In which case, a win for Celtic over Hearts would be enough to secure a fourth title in a row (on goal difference) for the Bhoys. Though I’m pretty sure that Hearts will be out to stop a Celtic party at Tynecastle.
Anyone care to stick their neck out and predict the outcome?
