I think it’s important that we all do our bit to stop climate change and help the environment. Every little change we make to our lifestyle makes a difference – even the little things like using low energy bulbs, not leaving TVs and other appliances on standby, recycling, etc. However, governments across the globe must take on the lion’s share as it is only through action at that level that changes can be made to reduce the large scale use of fossil fuel, make the switch to eco-friendly transport, etc.
I’m afraid that throwing green custard in someone’s face does nothing for the cause. It may have seemed like a good idea at the time, and may even have been amusing to some, but in the end it just makes you look petulant and foolish – plain stupid, you might say.
The democratic process may have failed to stop the introduction of an unwanted third runway at Heathrow but increasing Lord Mandelson’s laundry bill is not going to change anyone’s mind. Not even when you say that you’re doing it as a last resort.
