Absolute Fantasy?

It’s courting controversy, I know, but after last night’s UEFA Cup result (Gretna 1 – 5 Derry City), I feel I have to say something…

In Tommy Sheridan’s victory speech, he closed with the following: “Gretna have made it into Europe for the first time in their lives, but what we have done in the last five weeks is the equivalent of Gretna taking on Real Madrid in the Bernabeu and beating them on penalties, that’s what we’ve done.”

Erm, that’s absolute fantasy, sir. Makes me wonder about the outcome of the trial too…

Especially if, as his speech suggests, it was only “working class people on the jury who have found in [his] favour”. Shouldn’t juries be a bit more balanced and impartial than that?
