Oh, dear. I downloaded the Windows Vista Beta 2 at work today – so we could try it out on a test machine and see how it stacks up against Windows XP which we currently have on our network. It installed easily, more quickly than its predecessor, but is even more annoying. On its default configuration, it asks you to confirm that you really do want to make each change you try and apply to the system set up! This is so bloody annoying. I can’t imagine that even a total novice wants to be presented with a message box that effectively tells you that – you are about to make a change, do you really want to do that? – every time they make a minor adjustment.
OF COURSE I BLOODY DO! WHY THE HELL ELSE WOULD I BE MAKING THE CHANGE!
On the plus side, it has some very nice pictures of real life scenery for you to use as desktop wallpaper. I suspect that’s the real reason it’s called Vista!
