Energy Without Limit

I regularly read the magazine Astronomy Now and often check out their web site. There’s lots of interesting stuff there about all aspects of the Universe but one of my favourite columns are those by Adrian Berry. I found the article to which the title of this entry refers very interesting – and recommend that you check it out for yourself.

The article opens with a quote from JBS Haldane which caught my interest and made me think of the Hamlet’s words:

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Of course, the ideas put forward in the article were even more intriguing. The idea that empty space could provide us with the fuel we need to reach the stars has a satisfying sense of balance to it.
