I sat and watched all the Six Nations games this weekend and enjoyed two of the games. The third, as a game of rugby, was disappointing though, being Scottish, I was (not so) secretly pleased with the result. A result which I feel underlines the nature of England’s game. I have to concede that they did do well to win the Rugby World Cup however, as with their footballing win in 1966, it is now history. This time their kicking was woeful. Indeed their second half performance was little short of a joke. The French weren’t much better (as indeed they weren’t much better than Scotland the previous weekend) but they did grind out a result when it really mattered (just as they did against Scotland). Could it be that the French are on for another Grand Slam. I kind of hope not because the Irish are clearly the form team just now.
