A View From The West

Observations and musings on life as seen from a western island

It isn’t hard to work out from some of the stuff I post about so I’ll admit that I’m from the island of Lewis. Part of the archipelago known as the Outer Hebrides or Western Isles. And, despite the url I’ve chosen, I don’t stay in Scarista – though I have spent a lot of time there. I actually live…elsewhere!

The most important thing in my life is my family and I have a great passion for music, reading and Celtic FC.

I am also an atheist – that’s why there’s a big red A in the sidebar. As such, I often have a lot to say about religion and it’s negative aspects. I also have a lot to say about faith (faith and religion are NOT the same thing – despite my merging them into one category) and my lack of it. And before anyone starts, I have read The Bible (Old & New Testaments) as well as various other religious texts and commentary.

Any pictures you see in the header of this blog will most likely have been taken by my wife, who has a pretty good eye for a snapshot.

Finally, this blog is a collection of thoughts and impressions on just about everything that crosses my radar so expect a very mixed sack of mail.

;-)
